MONTVERDE IDOL RETURNS
Our most popular event of the spring returns to the Kirk Park Stage this spring.  Auditions for Montverde Idol will take place on Thursday May 14, 2015 and the actual event will be on Friday May 15, 2015.  If you have a voice and would like to take part, please contact MC, Mike Madawi at (352) 267-0044.  Be sure to put the date on your calander as this event is not to be missed.

MONTVERDE MUSIC IN THE PARK CONCERT SERIES

The Spring Concert in the Park Series continues on May 29, 2015 with favorite returning to the Kirk Park Stage, ROCKTOWN.  Following the success of the Greg Warren Band Concert and Rob Nichols, 4Rivers Smokehouse will return with their Barbeque menu plus beer and wine. This event is sponsored by Avalar Real Estate Services.  Just bring your chairs and enjoy another fabulous concert under the canopy of trees in Kirk Park.

NEXT COUNCIL MEETING

Mayor Troy Bennett would like to invite all residents to attend the upcoming Council Meeting.  It will take place on April 14, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the Town Hall Auditorium. There will be a period of Citizen Questions and Public Comment at the beginning of the meeting.  Agenda items include:

  • Second reading of Ordinance 2015-03 amending Chapter 10 relating to Fire Prevention and Enforcement
  • Second reading of Ordinance 2015-10 creating Chapter 11 relating to the Fire Department
  • Second reading of Ordinance 2015-12 repealing Article ll in Chapter 10 relating to the Fire Department 
  • Reading of Resolution 2015-14 adopting initial Fire Assessment
  • Request for the Town to pay the power bill For the Pines of Montverde Street Lights

All Residents are encouraged to attend the Council meeting;

2014 Water Quality Report

We’re very pleased to provide you with the most recent Annual Water Quality Report.  We want to keep you informed about the excellent water and services we have delivered to you over the past year.  Our goal is and always has been, to provide to you a safe and dependable supply of drinking water.  Our water source is the Floridan Aquifer, we treat or water with chlorination to disinfect and feed a polyphosphate for corrosion control.

Important Watering Schedule Reminder
In accordance with the St. Johns River Water Management District Severe Water Declaration Order, the Town of Montverde's watering schedule is as follows:

  • Daylight saving time:
    Second Sunday in March until the first Sunday in November
  • Eastern Standard Time:
    First Sunday in November until the second Sunday in March
  • An odd numbered address is one that ends in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9.
  • An even numbered address is one that ends in 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8.
  • Water only when needed and not between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Water for no more than one hour per zone.
  • Restrictions apply to private wells and pumps, ground or surface water and water from public and private utilities.
  • Some exceptions apply.
   
 

PENALTIES:

  • FIRST VIOLATION – VERBAL WARNING
  • SECOND VIOLATION – WRITTEN WARNING
  • THIRD VIOLATION - $50.00 FINE
  • SUBSEQUENT VIOLATION - UP TO $500.00 FINE

Now that the rainy season is almost over, many of us will be working in our yards and gardens. Everyone wants lush green grass but don’t forget we still have WATER RESTRICTIONS in effect.
