|
Steel Magnolias is set in Trudy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done. The story follows six women through the ebb and flow of life and draws on the underlying strength—and love—which gives the play, and its characters, the special quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvelously amiable company in good times and bad.
Steel Magnolias is produced by Community Arts Connection of South
Lake and South Lake Theatre Company and Sponsored by the Town of
Montverde.
At the Community Arts Connection of South Lake we feel a growing need to actively promote the arts and cultural events to help build a stronger community by stimulating the growth of businesses in the area; encouraging the participation of the wealth of local talent; and to providing creative opportunities, artistic outlets, and cultural events in all aspects of the arts – theatre, music, dance, and visual art.
