Committee: Planning and Zoning

The Planning and Zoning Committee has five regular members and one alternate appointed by the Town Council. The Committee reviews site plans within the Town. The Committee also acts in an advisory capacity to the Town Council and makes such studies and investigations as may be requested by the Town Council. The Committee may, on its own initiative, or at the request of property owners, or the Town Council's recommended changes to the Town's Zoning Code.

The Planning and Zoning Committee is also designated as the local planning agency which means it reviews all changes and updates to the Town's comprehensive plan.

The Planning and Zoning Committee also serves as the Architectural Review Board for the Town. The Architectural Review Board reviews the architectural plans for proposed buildings in the Town to insure that they are aesthetically compatible with the surrounding area, and to insure that the buildings will not negatively affect the surrounding area.
