Jim Pierce (Council Member)

Jim is a 44 Year old husband to Laura. They have been married for 17 years and together have a 13 year old daughter Sarah.
As a councilman he takes great pride in gathering all relative information before deciding on the best cour
se of action for the town. He has a strong background in management, fiscal responsibility and personnel matters obtained from over 20 years in the technology business. Currently he heads the technical operations of a communications corporation that spans Central and North Florida. He believes Fiscal responsibility is Job 1 for the Town Council and Mayor. His philosophy for the town is “to protect what we have built and to enrich the future”. Community and family are the
cornerstones of his daily life, being a councilman empowers and expands that innate desire to help others.
Jim is not afraid to get his hands dirty. For the past 2 years he has helped design, build and assemble over a dozen midway games which added a child participation component to our annual Montverde day festival.
His passion for electronics, computers and all things “techie” allows him a unique perspective on the town’s infrastructure and future needs both in communication and in the physical plant.
His hobbies include home improvement projects as well as still and motion photography. Jim also enjoys listening to all genre of music and playing trumpet.

Joe Wynkoop (Council Vice-President)

Originally from upstate New York, Joe Wynkoop has been a Florida resident for over 20 years. Since 1994 Joe has lived in Montverde, witnessing first hand the changes that Lake County has experienced with growth and development.
Joe was elected to Montverde Town Council after serving for over 7 years on the town’s Planning and Zoning Board, where he took an active role in making sure that future development in the town was in line with the
electorate’s wishes.
In addition to his political responsibilities, Joe is an experienced businessman. After many years as the Vice President for a major national corporation, Joe is now the owner of two local businesses.
Joe is an active member of his local Church and volunteers with several local charities. In his free time, he likes to play golf and spend time with Sue, his wife of 12 years.

Glenn Burns (Council Member)
Glenn is a native of Lake County and has been a resident of Montverde for over 15 years. He works as a computer mapping specialist and as a consultant to the Florida Scenic Highways Program. His main goal as a Commissioner is the preservation of the small town character of Montverde.
