Originally from upstate New York, Joe has been a Florida resident since 1987 and lived in Montverde since 1994. He has witnessed first-hand the changes in Lake County with growth and development. Joe was elected to Montverde Town Council in 2006 and has served continuously following seven years on the Planning and Zoning Board. Joe has served as the Mayor of Montverde since 2015. He has sat on the MPO Board (Lake County Metropolitan Planning Organization) for over ten years which plans all new roads, railroads and biking trails for all of Lake County. He served as a member of the Lake County Elderly Affairs Board representing District ll. This board directs all services in Lake County for the Elderly.
Joe and his wife Claudia have been with the organization Love Extension for over 10 years. This group puts together weekly deliveries for food to elderly folks that need a helping hand. He has been involved with the South Lake Community Foundation. This is an organization that helps fund different grants and puts together programs such as “backpack”, which provides school supplies to students and also food during the summer months when they are out of school. Joe was recently recognized by the Board of Commissioners with their appreciation for the many hours of service he has volunteered to the Arts and Cultural Alliance Organization in Lake County.
In addition to his political responsibilities, Joe is an experienced businessman, he is now the owner of two local businesses. He is an active member of his church and volunteers with several local charities. In his leisure time he likes to spend time with his lovely wife Claudia, daughter Yoli and his best pal Charlie!
